Philosophy

Wood, as a natural product, often grows in harsh and unpredictable environments. Yet, despite these challenges, trees endure and emerge stronger. No two trees are alike, and some of the most stunning wood comes from those that have survived the toughest conditions. Like us, there is no such thing as "perfect." In our efforts to hide flaws and chase an ideal version of perfection, we can miss out on the most meaningful aspects of life.

True beauty—whether in wood or in ourselves—lies in the imperfections, the flaws, and the growth that comes from overcoming challenges. The strength we gain from navigating life’s difficulties often results in the most beautiful transformations.

Inherently Imperfect celebrates the magnificence of imperfection. Perfection is unattainable, and it’s our unique imperfections that make us human. Despite the countless hours I devote to achieving flawless craftsmanship, I constantly remind myself that true perfection is unattainable. It’s the character within the wood—and within each of us—that truly matters.

Perfection is overrated. Character is what makes us unique.
